Tribute
There's an ongoing debate over which of many musical Lola's our puppy is named after.
I'm in the process of setting her up on a YouTube channel (pretty obsessive eh?) and this popped up as a related video after my first upload.
So here it is, candidate No. 1 for Lola's name:
New updates, pictures and video's to come soon!

Day 2 - Getting Busy
Our first night was pretty straightforward. We put a wire crate with a door on the top next to Micah's side of the bed, and Micah just reached it and petted Lola when she whined a little. Not a habit we're looking to reinforce, but it worked for a first night. We were up 3 times during the night to try out a potty break, but no dice. I guess that means we can swing the night with no potty? We'll see...
Day 2 was great, nice and easy. She was off her top first thing in the morning, but she balanced out pretty soon. She hung out and watched the morning political shows with Micah, then met her grandparents, Mark and Mel, and her great-grandpa Moe.
Maybe we're delirious, but we're pretty sure she's going potty on command-- head into the bathroom, say "get busy!" a few times and bam, all sorts of pottying.
Later this evening she seemed to start responding to her name too. What a smart little wingnut.
Here's some more pics of dorking around in the living room.

Settling In- Evening of Day 1
We spent Saturday afternoon getting Lola used to the bathroom. It took a lot less time than we expected. After a few tries in the hallway, we opened the living room up to her. It took her no time at all to settle right in, and before long, she was just all over the place.
Her play, as one might expect, comes in bumps and spurts. She generally gets hyper for about 5 minutes after she takes a nap. Then she cuddles, naps, and repeats.
She is a remarkable lap dog. We watched a movie in the evening, and she happily just cuddled along with us, occasionally peeking up and watching the movie with us.
Here are some pictures of her doing what she does best, which is basically just being adorable.

Coming Home
We went to pick Lola up on February 28, 2009. We had first seen and chosen her on February 14, and prepared our apartment for her arrival in the intervening weeks. She now inhabits a veritable puppy palace (something on the small side of a palace...).
Below are pictures and video of picking her up and her first little while at home. As I type, she's having her first good sleep. :)

Finding Lola
Finding Lola.
On February 14, we drove to Bancroft, ON to see some puppies that we'd found on Kijiji. We'd been flirting with the idea of a puppy for months, had started looking aggressively for about a month, and in early February, we found a batch that were just right. Micah found them, sent Jess the link, and she instantly jumped. So off we went to see about a puppy.
Our little one had 6 siblings, 3 of whom were still with her. Two were male (pass!) and one was a black and tan female, who was super duper skittish and shy. The puppy who would soon be called Lola was mellow, relaxed, and self-assured.
Below are pictures from our first encounter.
